Drywall is a fairly recent development in home improvement. Not that long ago, walls were covered with lath boards and plaster. But some genius at the United States Gypsum Company discovered an easier way to cover a wall's frame. This was the beginning of drywall history.
Does not do what it is supposed to do. I used this on newly hung drywall. After preparing the drywall by sanding everything, removing the loose dust, etc., I was meticulous in making sure all areas were covered thoroughly. Then I put a coat of top-rated flat latex ceiling paint on, the kind with paint and primer in one. Again, did a thorough job. Buying primer. Since I was priming over new drywall, I bought a 5 gallon bucket of Olympic latex primer for new drywall at Lowe's. Although, the bucket said it would cover about 400 square feet per gallon, over fresh drywall, I knew I would use much more. Sheetrock® Brand Tuff-Hide™ Primer-Surfacer is a high solids material which is spray-applied much thicker (15-20 mils wet is recommended) than a typical primer or paint to provide a smooth surface.
